Super Duplex Stainless Steel, like Duplex Stainless Steel, is a mixed microstructure of austenite and ferrite (50/50) which has enhanced strength over ferritic and austenitic steel grades. The main difference is that Super duplex steel has a greater Molybdenum and Chromium content which gives the material greater corrosion resistance. Super duplex steel holds 25% chromium content, 7% nickel content, and 4% molybdenum content. ASTM UNS S32760 Super Duplex Steel Round Bars is used in a high-stress and high-impact environment and can tolerate greater corrosive environments for a longer duration of duplex stainless steel.
